My foundation and specialist GP training has given me wide exposure to all areas of medicine, in particular acute medicine and elective orthopaedics. As the only full time female doctor during my registrar year, I have benefited from considerable experience in women’s health issues. I have become confident in managing and co-ordinating end of life care and also enjoy health promotion and disease prevention.

I have lived with my partner, Nick, on Hayling Island since 2007 where we enjoy Kitesurfing, Stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, running and mountain biking nearby in the South Downs. I also enjoy gardening and we have a very productive fruit and vegetable garden which helps my other interest of cooking and baking. I have made curtains for our home, which we have been renovating over the past years, and plan to learn how to make roman blinds next! I play the piano and enjoy listening to music, which both help me to unwind. All these activities help to keep me a happy doctor at work.

My medical interests include general medicine and men’s health.

I am married to an Anaesthetist and have a young family. My outside interests include squash, mountain biking and kite surfing.

In my spare time I enjoy running in the local park, running after my children, reading and meeting up with friends.

I spend a lot of my spare time in France, and particularly enjoy gardening, historical reading, painting, making jam, and improving my language skills.

I enjoy all aspects of general practice, including child health, minor surgery and end of life care.

In my spare time I enjoy outdoor activities including cycling, walking, skiing and golf. When the weather is bad, my hobbies include art, literature and history.

I consider myself a career generalist, however I have a special interest in palliative medicine and CIP commissioning.

I am married, we have two children and we are making our home in Guildford.

My special interests include children’s health and general medicine.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband is a local consultant and we have four children. I play tennis (badly!), love reading, sing in a choir and play the piano for relaxation.

My special interests include Minor Surgery, teaching Medical Students & Medicines Management.

I am delighted to find such a lively base to continue my interests in Yoga, the Theatre & exploring the countryside & places of historic interest on foot & by bike. I love reading & music -I am a member of the Chichester Singers. I have 2 children age 22 & 24 – a teacher & a Medical Student. I am a lapsed sailor & keen to crew my brother’s boat in Bosham!

Jane Oswin

Jane has been with us since 2008 and her main role has been to oversee the setting up of new members and new chambers and marketing availability to practices. With a background in marketing and advertising she is going to extend this role within Pallant Medical Chambers supporting Richard Barnes. Jane lives at the foot of the Downs and loves the countryside for walking and cycling. She also loves to ski, throw pots, play tennis and is an active member of her church in Bosham.

Nikki Beckingsale

Nikki joined us in 2010. Previously a team leader for Glaxo Smithkline, Nikki comes to Pallant with experience in team leading, documentation control and risk assessment. In recent years Nikki has been raising a family of 3 children, a dog, 2 budgies, a cat, 5 fish and a husband! and now enjoys the challenges of booking manager for Pallant. She has an obsession with the inbox “Getting through the booking emails is addictive!” Focusing mainly on bookings for now Nikki is looking to move into a more team management and coordinating role as the company grows.

In her spare time, she loves to experiment with interior design, run with friends and spending days out with her family and walking the dog .

Jeanne Cleghorn

Jeanne has been with Pallant right since the beginning in 2004, and works closely with her husband Brian to make sure all our invoices go out on time, all with the correct locum forms; that payments are paid into members accounts and handling any accounts issues. In their spare time, Jeanne & Brian love walking and cycling and being with their grandchildren, and in recent years has enjoyed travelling to Yemen and Jordan.

Su de Trafford

Su has a background in Human Resources, and as well as getting to grips with bookings. Su will soon start to oversee the process of bringing in new members from first applying to settling in to life as a Pallanteer.

Sara Young

With a background in organising arts events and shows, Sara joins us this summer to initially focus on managing bookings, but will also be taking on the role of organising chambers meetings and keeping the logistics of running a business.

She loves walking in the Downs, Tennis, Waterskiing, painting large oils and keeping the family fed and happy.

Martine Ward

Martine is predominantly managing bookings and handling queries at the moment. Martine has experience in managing clients in her previous life as an estate agent. In her spare time she renovates and decorates second hand furniture.

My special interests include women’s health, mental health and minor surgery.

In my spare time I enjoy climbing, running, reading and photography.

My special interests currently include forensic medical work.

In my spare time I love music of all sorts, I enjoy going to concerts/gigs and I also play the ‘cello. I am a keen movie buff and also an avid reader. My relatively new and burgeoning interest is the garden. Once I’ve developed my green fingers a bit more, I would like to try my hand at growing organic veggies.

I am interested in all aspects of family medicine, but I have a particular interest in the prevention of heart disease and strokes.

Most of my spare time is taken up involved with my family and in particular my children’s activities. However, when I get a moment, I like to play the bass guitar and take photos.

I describe myself as a generalist who has spent a large part of my career in a very stable ‘old style’ family practice. In my new role as a freelance GP, I want to pursue my interest in supporting patients who wish to learn about personal lifestyle strategies that could reduce their potential risk of developing diabetes or suffering a heart attack or stroke at some future time in their lives.

I have been happily married for 35 years. I and my wife have 3 daughters who are all married and we regard ourselves as being blessed in having one grand-child aged 2½ and two more on the way. I enjoy all sports but cricket is my first love and I continue to play when captaining the Herts Doctors ‘Wandering’ Cricket XI.

My medical interests include family planning, child health and mental health. I also have qualifications in Occupational Health.

In my spare time I enjoy walking the dog, chasing round after 3 children, tennis and spending time with with friends and family.

My special interests include Mens Health and General Medicine.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking Indian food and watching movies.

My areas of special medical interest include obesity and adult protection.

I enjoy playing badminton and going to the gym. Driving is another hobby, particularly occasional track days. In any spare leisure time I enjoy outdoor photography. To relax after work I like to cook using fresh local ingredients.

My special interests include children’s health, women’s health and family planning.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading and spending time with my husband and two children.

In my spare time I enjoy making the most of the outdoors whether it be pottering in the garden, hiking or going for a run. I also enjoy playing tennis and get great pleasure out of playing the piano. I live with my husband and two children aged 4 and 20 months.

My special interests include women’s health, ENT and mental health.

Outside of work I love cycling, swimming and dancing.

And it’s something that has such a knock-on effect for the rest of our members too, with perhaps the greatest compliment of all coming from practice managers who’ve reported back to us that patients have told them that if they can’t see one of their usual GP, they’d be happy to see a ‘Pallant doctor’.

I have special interests which include managing chronic diseases, chest diseases and children’s health.

I enjoy spending time with my children, gardening and walking up hills and by the sea.

With this comes the unquestionable need for flexibility, and that’s where one of Pallant’s great strengths lies in our members regularly meeting up to learn from one another as many of the necessary vagaries of different surgeries. So it’s great to get the feel of different practices before we work there, and great too for practices to do as much as they can to ensure we’re right up to speed wherever we’re working. A couple of obvious little things that can make a big difference are:

• if there’s been a change of surgery i.e. to a branch surgery, please let our managers know ASAP.
• we supply all our practices with a Standardised Practice Induction Pack to help familiarise our members immediately with local clinical information. If you’ve not received yours, let us know.
• Making sure the computers have had time to boot up so we can get working for you as soon as we arrive, and making sure each member has their own unique username and password if they’ve not worked for you before.

*we conducted a survey last year that showed the average number of different practices worked by our members in one year was 30

My special interests include children’s health, family planning and sports medicine.

In my spare time I enjoy road cycling, pilates, walking my dog and spending time with my two young children. In the past I have sailed and raced extensively.

My special interests are Palliative care, Women’s health, and Family Planning

I am mummy to 2 little girls, and married to Ian. Together we own a small dry-dock business beside the Kennet and Avon canal, where boats are painted and maintained. We also have an expanding smallholding, with chickens, pigs and lots of apple trees. I love cooking (and eating!) the things I grow, and spending time out doors with my family. If boats or mud are involved that’s even better!

I enjoy the variety of conditions seen in general practice and my special interests in clued children’s health and skin diseases.

In my spare time my wife and I enjoy outdoor pursuits, particularly hill walking and cycling, gardening, nature and adventure travel.

My special interests include blood sugar and hormones disorders, and mental health.

My hobbies and non-professional interests include sporting activities, church activities and networking.

I am particularly interested in children’s health and the care of children both at home in the UK and overseas in developing countries. It is my intention to complete further training in paediatrics so that I can work overseas for aid agencies in the future.

My special interests include geriatric medicine and diabetes.

I relocated to Hampshire in October 2010 to join my British husband. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, running and visiting art exhibitions.
